Sometimes I feel silly. I'm not a fashionista, I'm not in New York City. But, sometimes I get the silly urge to wear something... well, silly. This winter, it's a faux fur snood.

I'm not sure what snood actually means.... I'd say it'snot nearly a hood, but more hoody than your typical circle infinity scarf.
Thing is, I don't want to try this trend enough to spend more than say, ten bucks on it. While I wouldn't be surprised if Forever 21 has their own version, I lazied out and decided to just make one instead. And since I hate to sew, I decided to make it in the laziest way possible.
No Sew Faux Fur Snood
Cut yourself a 18"x36" piece of faux fur. I totally went to Joanns (with a coupon) intending to do brown (or maybe white) but then saw this pink fur.... and fell in love. If you're gonna be silly, be really silly, I say. If you want a more legit knock off, get a shade of brown. Joann's had a dozen different faux furs. I will just say that longer fur is probably better than really short fur for this project.
I bought a yard of fur, so I have about ¾ a yard left. Any ideas of DIYs using pink faux fur? Otherwise it looks like everyone I know is getting a snood for Christmas. (Imagine Oprah in a Santa suit... "And you get a pink fur snood! And YOU get a pink fur snood!")
Then fold your fabric hot dog style, ugly side out. For all of the gluing in this project, you want to put the glue on the furry side (the good side) of your project. It seems counter-intuitive, but trust me on this one.
Glue a long line on the long edge of the fur. I used books to weigh it down so it glued really well together. Now, I used Liquid Stitch, which has to dry for 24 hours. I'm 99% sure that hot glue would have worked for this project, too.
Once that's dry, turn it inside out (well, return it to right side out).

Fold your scarf in half, the other way this time (end to end). Glue the 2 inside ends together, remembering to put the glue (use plenty of glue) on the fur side. I used paper clips to secure the edges together so they dried tightly.
Once that's dry, repeat on the other side. The second side is kind of difficult, but mostly just glue fur to fur and hold it tightly. Use clips to ensure that it dries well.
Ta-da! You have a super cheap, super easy fur snood. Sean thinks its weird (he didn't say this per se, but his bulging eyes when I debuted it say it all ) but I think it's fun to go out of your comfort zone sometimes! Low investment, low risk. Plus any kind of scarf is great for covering food stains if you drip on yourself at a party.... just saying!
