To my regular, Charleston Crafted readers: I am excited to share that I have been selected as a blogging contributor at WeddingBee! WeddingBee is an amazing community of blogs, message boards, classifieds, and image galleries featuring wedding planning journeys from around the world. If you are planning a wedding, you have to check it out. If not, you still might want to check it out, but have no fear. We will still be here sharing plenty of DIY, recipes, and adventures, wedding related and not!
Hello everyone! I am so excited to pop in today to introduce myself as the newest bee – I am Miss Coral!
I was head-over-heels excited to be selected as a bee. While I love blogging with my regular readers, I know that there is nothing more fun than talking wedding with other brides-to-be. I am so excited to share this process with all of you (and I know that Mr. Coral is excited for me to have someone to talk to other than him about all of my kooky ideas!).
Why Miss Coral? I am obsessed with anything and everything nautical, so the idea of a sea creature was just perfection. Coral is one of my signature colors, and of course one of our wedding colors! It was the perfect fit.
Now, a little about me. I was born and raised in Cary, North Carolina and moved to Charleston, South Carolina in 2007 to attend the College of Charleston. I met Mr. Coral the fall after graduating when we lived in the same apartment building. I actually saw him in the stairwell a few times, thought he (and his dog) was adorable, and decided one day to knock on his door. Ahh, to be young and brazen!
Now we live together in a condo right across the street from where we first met. We spend our time doing DIY projects (Mr. Coral is an Eagle Scout with quite the tool collection and I’m a bit of a thrift store addict with mad glue gun skills), cooking up healthy meals, traveling the world, and exploring beautiful Charleston, South Carolina.
We have a beagle mix named CiCi and a fluffy grey kitten named Bear Grylls. They are best friends.
We are planning a colorful, coastal April wedding to be held in nearby Mount Pleasant on Shem Creek. We are very excited that the vast majority of our guests will be travelling here from out-of-state. That means that all of those friends and relatives who’ve been saying they wanted to visit me for the last 8 years are finally going to do it! It’s a great excuse for us to turn our wedding into a weekend celebration of love, family, and beautiful Charleston.
And don’t worry – while we are leaving a lot to the pros (I have a killer florist and DOC as well as an amazing caterer, photographer, baker, and more up my sleeves), it wouldn’t be a Charleston Crafted wedding without lots (and lots) of DIY. And I can’t wait to share every project!
With love from Charleston, Miss. Coral
