Our 2024 Christmas Decor Tour

Love holiday decor? Here’s Our 2024 Christmas Decor Tour!

We absolutely love decorating for the holidays, and every day we add something new to our space.

It’s been a fun year for decorating – we mixed up a few things and brought in some new elements – including the color red!

I have typically steered towards green Christmas decor – since I love to decorate with blues and greens – but something about the big red bow was calling me this year!

Our 2024 Christmas Decor Tour

Here is the indoor and outdoor Christmas decor we put up this holiday season.

Indoor Christmas decor

I love to decorate inside our house, including 2 trees! I tried to keep it a bit simple this year, not feeling the need to put every single decor item on display. But, we still have a lot going on!

Fireplace Mantel

I decided to mix up our fireplace area this year. Instead of a wreath, I hung a DIY oversized stuffed bow!

On the mantle is a strand if my favorite super soft, realistic faux garlands, the XL bells from Walmart, wooden and woven tabletop trees (from Target in past years, discontinued) and a large gold lantern we actually keep there year round.

Our stockings are a few years old and I custom ordered them on Etsy.

I love the balance of neutrals, natural textures, and pops of metallics and red. So fun!

“Family” Christmas Tree

Next to the fireplace we have our live Christmas tree, what some people call a kid’s tree or family tree. It’s just a combination of all of our ornaments collected over time.

There are a lot of felt or stuffed animal ornaments, which the kids picked out a few years ago to jumpstart this colorful tree. There’s a lot of gold metallic souvenir ornaments Sean and I collected on trips.

And, there are some random DIYs like my snowball, beach ball, and DIY photo ornaments.

On top, is this big red bow (of course) and a star topper that projects rainbow lasers on the ceiling (also chosen by Luke, maybe 2-3 years ago).

And at the bottom is the DIY automatic tree watering system we made so we don’t have to check our tree twice a day!

Red Bow Garlands

In addition to the big red bow wreath and the tree topper, I have bow garlands on either side of the room.

Theres a large one over the tv, and a small and medium on the shelves above the couch.

They are just pre-made bows hot glued together. Read my tutorial on how to make a bow garland for more details!

Nativity Set

I have to mention that I am once again displaying my Granny’s nativity set. She made this from paper mache, bottle caps, and yarn in the 1970s. I was lucky enough to get it from her and cherish it!

Kitchen

Not to be forgotten, I did do a tiny amount of decorating in the kitchen. Really, it’s just five of this big red bow. 4 clipped to the back of the bar stools (they have a loop on the back I pulled through the weave of the fabric) and 1 hanging from a command hook on the dark green range hood. Obsessed!

Rose Gold Christmas Tree

Our guest bedroom has a big window that looks out on the street. So, I love putting a tree in it!

This faux tree is decorated rather sparsely, with rose gold ornament clusters, pearl and silver sequin picks, and a capiz angel tree topper (discontinued from Target).

I love this tree and how pretty it looks from the sidewalk outside!

Guest Room Shelves

In that same room, I added some decor to the floating shelves. I’ve been enjoying decorating these shelves seasonally lately!

Porch Trees

Once again this year, we have a faux tree on each of our stacked porches. Paired with the tree in the front window, I think it makes for a really pretty sight!

Both of the porch trees are past indoor faux trees that the bottom section of lights stopped working 🙂 Rather than trash them, we use them on the porches where the burnt out sections are hidden behind the railings.

In keeping with the theme, I added a big red bow to the top of each, just for a little something extra!

Giant Skeleton Accessories

Slightly controversially (with TikTok commenters and our HOA) we left our giant skeleton up from Halloween.

He got a santa hat (chair cover), an inflatable XL ornament, and a DIY strand of oversized string lights!

Lots of Inflatables

We of course went a little Clark Griswald with all of the inflatables this year. We have a Santa with his sleigh, Santa lounging in a hammock, and a pop up penguin. The kids love them, so why not!

Garland around the Garage

Our final fun project for the year was adding a frame of garland, lights, and ornaments around the garage door.

It’s a PVC and wire base wrapped with garlands, then lights. You can see the full garland arch tutorial for all the details!

From our family to yours, happiest of holiday season, happy new year. See you in 2025!
