Want to add a spooky touch to your Halloween decor? Here’s a simple and inexpensive tutorial for how to make googly eye frames!
Halloween is one of my favorite holidays to decorate with, because you get a chance to really be silly and whimsical.
One thing that is spooky – but also fun – is eyeballs! In this case, googly eyes.
I decided to cover simple, inexpensive picture frames with googly eyes and WOW they turned out super cute!
If you are looking for an easy and inexpensive Halloween craft idea, look no further!
How to make googly eye frames
It is super easy to make eyeball picture frames!
What you need:
- A Picture Frame (I used plain $1 wooden ones)
- Black paint
- paint brush
- Tons of googly eyes (I got 4 variety packs from Michaels with tons of different sizes)
- tacky glue
- a halloween photo
How to make googly eye frames
Here’s how easy it was to make these eyeball frames!
STEP 1: Prep the frame
Paint the frame black. Make sure to paint the sides and the back to get a fully cohesive look.
STEP 2: Glue
After the paint dries, start glueing on eyes!
I started by placing the largest eyes around the frame and then filled in with smaller eyes.
Use tacky glue to attach them and press firmly in place.
Note: you COULD use hot glue but that would leave a lot of stringy bits. Tacky glue is plenty secure for this project and will leave you with cleaner results!
I decided that it was ok to see black between the eyes- I think it looked cool.
STEP 3: Add a picture
Let it dry really well and add your Halloween picture!
I decided to make 2 frames, one for each of the pictures of our pets in past Halloween costumes.
How fun!
