Caraway pans have been very popular for years, but they are expensive. We’re breaking down whether Caraway pans are worth it in this review.
We recently bought a full set of Caraway pots and pans for our home and we debated a long time whether we should.
Caraway is a more high-end brand of kitchen cookware and not a purchase to be taken lightly.
When we got married, we registered for a set of Cuisinart pots and pans and had been using them for about 8 years. In the last few years, we’ve had to stop using them one by one as they lost their non-stick coating and we needed to upgrade.
We’ve now been using our Caraway pots and pans for a while and we wanted to give you a full and honest review about what we like and don’t like about them to help you determine if they are worth it.
This was not a sponsored review and we paid for these with our own money on Black Friday, so this is an honest look at if Caraway is worth the money.
Caraway pans review
Overall, cooking meals with Caraway cookware isn’t specifically any different than using any other cookware from meal to meal.
However, we have seen a lot of good things about our Caraway pots and pans and have really enjoyed using them over time.
Specifically, we purchased the larger set of Caraway pots and pans, the full cookware and minis set. We got both because we wanted to make sure we got everything we typically use which includes a small pot and pan.
The other option is to purchase either just the 4 piece cookware set or the 2 piece minis set.
We typically use our set every night and a few mornings and lunches a week. That means we give them a lot of use compared to a lot of households.
We’ve enjoyed cooking with our Caraway cookware and now we’ll break down the benefits and negatives and help you determine if they are worth it for you.
And right now, they have a special deal going on!

What are the benefits of Caraway pans?
Here are some of the specific benefits of Caraway pans we’ve seen compared to other cookware.
- Nonstick ceramic– Caraway pans are all made with non-stick ceramic, meaning nothing should stick at all and really glides around.
- Non-toxic cookware– Caraway claims to use no toxic materials in the making of their cookware so that nothing can potentially leech into your food. They are PFOA Free.
- Stovetop agnostic– that’s Caraway’s fancy way of saying that their cookware works on all types of stoves, including gas, electric or convection, plus they are also all oven-safe.
- Handles– the stainless steel handles are really ergonomically friendly, plus there is a little bump on the underside that indicates where heat shouldn’t get past and your hand should be safe.
- They are beautiful– we got our set in the sage green color and it is gorgeous. It really works with our kitchen aesthetic, however when they are in the drawer, it doesn’t really matter. They look great against our painted stone tile backsplash!
- Easy to clean– so far, nothing we’ve cooked has stuck to the pan and it washes off almost entirely with just water so you don’t need much of a scrub.
Can Caraway pans go in the oven?
Yes, Caraway is oven-safe!
How to clean caraway pans
It is easy to wash these pans in the sink – we use dish soap and a scrub daddy. They also come with a small magic-eraser type thing to use on stubborn stains on the outside of the pans. They work like magic!!
Are Ceramic pans safe?
Ceramic pans are a less toxic alternative compared to traditional non-stick pans. Honestly, they are not as “non-stick” as the others, but more non-stick than regular stainless steel pans.
What are the negatives of Caraway pans?
As with everything, nothing is perfect. Here’s a few things about Caraway cookware that can be considered less than ideal.
- Pieces in the set– as mentioned, we had to buy the big combo set that included the mini pot and pan. We didn’t like that the main set didn’t include any smaller pieces and you can’t put together an a la carte option, meaning you have to buy pieces you might not need.
- Weight– the weight can be a good thing to feel sturdy, but if you are a smaller person or your children like to cook with you, these are heavier.
- Care– you do need to be more careful with these pots and pans and you have to put a little extra into keeping them in pristine condition. However, you should probably be doing that with any cookware set you have. Also, if you have metal utensils, you can’t use them with Caraway ceramic pots and pans, so you’ll need to upgrade to wood or rubber.
- Cost– these pots and pans are significantly more expensive than just getting a regular set from Amazon, Costco, Target, etc.
Why are caraway pans so expensive?
Caraway pans are priced high because they are a high end product, targeting people who are concerned about toxicity in their cookware. They are marketed as a “healthier” option, which almost always means a higher price tag, unfortunately.
They are also made of high quality materials and and high quality product overall.
Finally, I think that Caraway prices the items a bit high intentionally so they can run frequent sales and deals. Watch out for holidays or big sale seasons like Prime Day and Black Friday, when they typically run a significant discount.
What are the disadvantages of ceramic cookware?
Ceramic coated cookware is a great option for nonstick pans and won’t have toxic chemicals. However, they do have their disadvantages.
Ceramic cookware holds heat for a long time, which is great if you want to keep things hot, but not great if you don’t. This also means that you need to let your Caraway pans cool down before rinsing them with cold water because they can crack with the sudden temperature difference.
Being ceramic also means that Caraway pans can scratch or chip if they are banged around or dragged on your stove. This is unlike metal pans that will be very study.

Our Caraway pans honest review
Honestly, I’ve loved cooking with our Caraway pans. The nonstick coating is seriously so smooth. Food glides around.
To be fair, it’s been almost a decade since our last set of new pans, but I don’t remember them ever being like this.
The ceramic pans don’t need high heat and can cook food really evenly on low to medium heat with just a little bit of oil or butter. You don’t need to crank up the heat because the ceramic holds the heat in better and has better heat distribution, so this will reduce the wear on the bottom of your pans.
Caraway pots and pans are also really easy to clean. We use Scrub Daddy sponges and they are soft on the ceramic coating, but we barely even need them. Water alone gets almost everything off the pots and sauté pans.
Our Caraway pans really do cook well and really I’ve very much enjoyed using them.

What comes in a set of Caraway pots and pans?
In the standard Caraway cookware set, you’ll get a 10.5 inch fry pan, 3 quart sauce pan, 4.5 quart saute pan and a 6.5 quart dutch oven. We got the minis as well, which included the 8 inch mini fry pan and the 1.75 quart mini sauce pan.
It also came with a set of lids for almost all of them, and they are interchangeable as needed.
What I didn’t realize is that the set includes two cork trivets, a hanging lid storage system for the back of your cabinet door and four magnetic pan racks to hold pots and pans upright in your cabinet.
For us, this was only partly helpful because we store our pots and pans in a pull out drawer, but if you want to organize your standard cabinet with these, they are great for organization.

Caraway bakeware honest review
We also got the Caraway Baking Duo, which is two baking sheets. I’m not as impressed with the Caraway bakeware as I am with the pots and pans.
The Caraway Baking Duo set comes with two baking sheets- one of which is bigger than our former standard pans, and the other is way smaller. That’s not particularly helpful because we often need two standard size pans at the same time. Also the big one doesn’t fit in our drawer.
The other issue I have with the Caraway Baking Duo is it says not to use it on the broil setting, which is something that we use frequently. So now I have to keep at least one of our old pans for broiling.
Overall, they are sturdy and the same beautiful color, but I wouldn’t recommend the Caraway bakeware in the way I would recommend the cookware.
Are Caraway pans worth the money?
The answer to whether Caraway pans are worth the money is obviously totally subjective to your life situation.
Do I think that you should go into credit card debt to splurge on Caraway pans? Absolutely not.
Do I think that Caraway pans are a really nice option if you can afford them? Yes, I do.
I believe Caraway pans are worth it if you can afford to spend the money and they are a really really nice set of cookware. If you’re a home cook that does a lot of cooking, they will also come in handy because they should last a longer amount of time and will therefore pay for themselves over their extended life.
We definitely recommend Caraway pots and pans if you are looking for a great set!
