Want to add a festive touch to your home this Halloween? Here’s how we made our Carnivorous Plants Halloween Mantel display!
I absolutely love Halloween and we always go crazy decorating our front yard for the holiday.
I’ve done some smaller halloween mantels in the past, but this year I was inspired by some carnivorous plants that I saw at Michael’s craft store to do a total carnivorous plant Halloween mantle.
I mean, I love house plants, so why not do a spooky plant display for the super fun holiday!
We had so much fun making these DIY Halloween plant decorations!
We have written specific tutorials for each of the elements of our mantle but today I just wanted to share the whole thing together and link out to all of those tutorials in one convenient place.
Our Carnivorous Plant Halloween Mantel
Here are the elements included in our Halloween display!
Large carnivorous plants
These were the centerpiece of our display and my initial inspiration. I’m not going to lie – they ended up being more expensive than I anticipated to make. But, they are large and make a huge impact!

Small Carnivorous plants
These small carnivorous plants were inspired by this HGTV tutorial. They are made from small foam balls and vampire teeth!
They are SO cute I almost wish I had made 2 dozen of them to make several vases worth, I love them that much!

Eyeball and Skull flowers
These florals were SO EASY to make – seriously, zero skill required!
My hottest tip is to pick flowers that easily separate to reveal the centers. I originally wanted to use red roses, but I couldn’t open the buds up enough to get in there!

Moss Skull
This moss and succulent covered skull was Sean’s favorite part of the mantel! The trick is using a foam skull that is easily pierced by florals.

Accessories
We accessorized the mantel with a black & red rose garland. This helped to keep it from looking so much like vases all in a row and more of a cohesive unit.
We also added small elements we had on hand already – these soft bats, as well as some black skulls and a spooky tree. Anything on color scheme would help add a spooky touch!
