Check out how I styled my floating shelves with a colorful, disco ball Halloween theme!
I just love decorating for Halloween. While I am all for setting out a few purposeful pieces, there is something to be said for cleaning off a surface and re-styling it entirely for a holiday.
I decided to style the shelves in our guest bedroom for Halloween!
The theme is sort of bright colors – hot pink, neon orange, bright yellow – and silver disco ball! I also added a few woven, natural elements. I loved the contrast of rattan with disco ball!
This was fun to do and a great way to showcase a lot of my DIYs. Here’s what I used!

Come tour my disco ball, colorful, Halloween shelf decor!
The floating shelves that I styled are these DIY floating shelves in our guest bedroom.
Pom Pom BOO Letters
I wanted to make a big statement on these shelves. I was inspired by the big pom pom letters that I made for Luke’s room.
I started with wooden letters (Sean actually cut them with the laser cutter, but you could use pre-made wooden letters from Michaels or cut them from foam poster board with scissors.)
Then I used hot glue to attach a ton of pom poms. I’m obsessed with these sparkly halloween pom poms – though I do wish there were more medium size poms in the pack (it’s a lot of small ones!)
They turned out so fun!
Halloween Village
I made this Halloween village a few years ago and it’s still going strong! The colors of the houses actually inspired the coloring on this whole shelf setup.

Disco ball cauldron
This disco ball cauldron was super easy to make – it is clear glass ornament balls + small disco balls hot glued on there. And, it lights up! So fun, and it makes a big impact on the shelf!

Pampas Grass
This beautiful, colorful pampas grass stopped me in my tracks at Michaels! It was the perfect colors to match the Halloween village and the best way to add height and texture to these shelves.
They are in this Woven vase which also adds texture to the space!
Spooky book stack
I love styling shelves with stacked books but I didn’t have anything spooky looking. So, I wrapped some normal books in black cardstock and wrote “Basic Spells”, “Potions and Poisons”, and “Book of Magic” on the side. Simple but effective!
Other accessories
I have to link some of the other store-bought accessories that look so great in this space:
- Orange acrylic frames
- Woven faux skull
- Bat skeleton
- Spooky tree
- Disco ball pumpkins
- Woven vase
- Acrylic Iridescent Ghost Bucket
