Want to add a fun and colorful animal-inspired topper to your Christmas tree? Here’s how to make a simple DIY Flock of Birds Christmas Tree Topper!
Hey guys! You’ve seen a sneak peak of some of our Christmas decor we’ve been putting up this week, including our DIY wood slice reindeer, a driftwood Christmas tree and felt word garland (ya filthy animal).
We have one more DIY decor item to show you before we reveal our indoor and outdoor decorations all next week. It’s our DIY flock of birds Christmas tree topper!
This year, for our tree topper, we wanted something different. Last week, Michael’s had a 40% off everything in the store, including sale prices, so we went a little crazy.
One cute thing we saw was in the picks section where they had red and white fat little birds on a pick. They were so cute and, after the discount, less than $1 apiece!
So naturally, we grabbed eight of them, plus a styrofoam cone to put them together.
This project is so easy, but so cute. First, before assembling our flock of birds, I took the cone and pressed down on the top of the tree to form a hole for it to sit in.
I was going to use a drill to drill out a hole, but when I tested it this way, the styrofoam gave away easy.
Then, assemble the flock! We mixed and matched the bird picks and they became a flock.
Once they were all on there, it looked really fun.
We added it to the top of the tree and it looked great and so cute!
Now our little DIY flock of birds Christmas tree topper can watch over us. Just hope Bear doesn’t try to get up there and eat them!
