Dremel 4V Cordless Glue Pen Review

Shopping for a new hot glue gun? Here is my honest Dremel 4V Cordless Glue Pen Review, including thoughts on battery life, the glue sticks it uses, and when I think it's not the best choice of glue gun!

It's no secret that I love crafting and a lot of craft projects require the use of hot glue.

I love using hot glue because it's pretty strong and it dries so quickly that it makes a lot of projects easy and fast to complete!

I recently stumbled upon a new cordless hot glue pen by one of our favorite tool brands, Dremel. I just had to try it out!

I've been using it for over a month now so I thought it was time to share a review!

Dremel 4V Cordless Glue Pen Review

Here are my honest thoughts on this cordless glue pen!

What is the Dremel Glue Pen?

This tool is a cordless, USB-charging hot glue gun but instead of the gun-shape, is a straight shape.

It is extremely lightweight and easy to hold in your hand and easy to squeeze the trigger.

What I love about the Glue Pen

I love that I can grab this glue pen and take it with me anywhere, without having to worry about being close to an outlet.

With my normal glue gun, the cord is very short and it won't reach to my favorite seat on the couch without an extension cord! Cordless means this is not an issue.

Additionally, I am obsessed with how quickly it heats up. It takes maybe 15 seconds to be fully ready to go. That's just so convenient, especially for quick repairs.

I also love the shape of the pen and how lightweight and easy to hold it is. It feels like a super natural hand position and I love that.

I also love the thin tip - it allows me to get super precise with where I am gluing!

Battery Life & Charging

While the cordless aspect of this glue pen is great, it does mean that it has to be charged. There is not a base that you keep this on, but instead it charges with a micro USB plug, included in your purchase.

I have found that it lasts about an hour between charges.

This includes time that it is on and not being used, so it can go quickly. Because of this, I do not think this is a replacement for a plug-in glue gun for large crafting projects.

What kind of glue sticks does the Dremel Glue Pen use?

This glue pen uses the mini hot glue sticks. This is one of my biggest gripes with this tool - I feel like the mini glue sticks go so quickly! I am constantly having to re-fill it.

Where to buy the Dremel Cordless Glue Pen

This tool is sold a lot of places including:

  • Amazon
  • Walmart
  • Lowes Home Improvement

Is the Dremel Glue Pen worth it?

The Dremel Cordless Glue Pen is great for quick repair projects and on-the-go crafting. I do not think it is a replacement for a full hot glue gun, especially for large projects.
