Keyword research can be super overwhelming. It can also be expensive. I love and use SEM Rush, but it is over $100 a month and that’s out of a lot of people’s budgets.

So, today I am rounding up a bunch of free keyword research tools. I will list a TON and then share more details on my favorites.

Free Keyword Research Tools

Here are free keyword research tools that are available online:

  • Google Search Console
  • Keyword Shitter
  • Pinterest
  • YouTube
  • Keywords Everywhere

Google Search Console

Google Search Console is an excellent tool for both monitoring your current rankings and determining new keywords to target. It is really important to set up an account and check out where you stand a few times a month.

Keyword Shitter

Keyword Shitter is a great tool for getting a brain dump of potential keywords. You will have to do some work to weed out the more relevant content, but it is a great place to start.

Pinterest

There are three ways that I use Pinterest to find keywords, and I even wrote up a whole tutorial for you. This is excellent, especially for searches that might also be happening on Pinterest – it shows you exactly what your potential readers are looking for.

Youtube Page Source

Whether you are creating a video or just writing a blog post, YouTube is a great place to search for keywords. Remember, YouTube is owned by Google, so this is information directly from the horse’s mouth. Here’s a tutorial on how I search YouTube Page Source for keywords.

Keywords Everywhere

Keywords Everywhere is a free extension for your internet browser. It provides you with top keywords as well as monthly search counts right in your existing Google Search. It’s a convenient way to identify the most used keywords within your search topic.
