Spring Cleaning: Kitchen Appliances

When you're tackling spring cleaning, make sure you're giving your kitchen appliances a good deep clean! Here's some tips!

We're doing Spring Cleaning here, so let's actually do some cleaning! Yesterday, we told you about how we organized our kitchen cabinets and gave away a lot of pots, pans and tupperware that we never use. A

fter we did that, we decided it was time to tackle our kitchen appliances that we use every day and clean them from top to bottom.

Tips for spring cleaning kitchen appliances

We started with the stove and oven. We ran the oven cleaning cycle overnight and when we woke up, there was ash inside it and still looked dirty.

We didn't know how the cycle worked but found out that the ash is just because the oven got so hot that it burned off all the gross stuff and then we just wipe it out. You can also take off the door of your oven and clean the INSIDE of the glass to get rid of those mysterious stains than appear.

We cleaned the stove by taking out all the drip pans and washing them in the sink and wiping down the whole appliance.

We did the same thing with the microwave by taking out the rotating plate and washing it in the sink and scrubbing out the exploded food inside. Luckily, we aren't like some people who have entire meals on the walls of their microwave, so it wasn't too difficult.

The big thing to clean was the refrigerator. We took everything out of the fridge and threw away any food that was old.

Then, we sprayed and cleaned all surfaces and drawers in there. It wasn't too bad, but there were definitely some spots that things had leaked and puddled that we didn't know about.

Then, we put everything back and made sure items were in appropriate places and shelves in order of accessibility.

After all the big appliances were done, we cleaned little things like the coffee maker and toaster oven and cleaned the counters with granite cleaner. Finally, we wiped all of the stainless steel down with stainless steel wipes.

It feels really good to know that all of our appliances are thoroughly cleaned and ready to go. It makes a big difference when everything is cleaned out and organized in the kitchen!

When was the last time you did a deep clean?
