Here are the top wallpaper trends for 2025, including bold maximalism, metallic finishes, and vintage-inspired designs. Check out these fresh ideas for transforming your space with the latest in wallpaper decor.
Wallpaper is a very controversial home decor choice.
As someone who spent a particularly grueling weekend of her life painstakingly removing wallpaper from our kitchen, I swore I would never hang it myself.
Of course, then I did go onto wallpaper my son’s nursery. Classic!
While I have no intentions of wallpapering every room in my home, I think that it can be a beautiful statement in the right space.
It’s important when you’re choosing a wallpaper that you choose something that is timeless and that you love.
Let’s be serious – it’s a lot harder to change wallpaper than it is to change paint. That’s not to be to say it cannot be changed, but it is a bigger process.
So, make sure to pick something that is a real reflection of your personal style!
But, of course, you want it to be trendy, too. Or at least, not out of style.
Here are the current wallpaper trends I am seeing.
Trending colors
Before taking a look at the wallpaper designs that are trending this year, it’s important to know the colors that are trending, too.
In recent years, we’ve seen a shift away from the stark whites and greys that dominated the last decade. For 2025, the trend continues toward rich, earthy tones and soothing, nature-inspired shades.
This includes a lot of warm tones, browns and beiges for neutrals, and yellow, terra cotta, and pinks for pops of color.

Maximalism
With the increase in decorating with color comes a lot of opportunity to have really fun, bold designs on the walls.
Maximalism can feature deep jewel tones like emerald, sapphire, and ruby, metallic accents, and intricate patterns.
This is a great option if you want a focal wall to make a statement! I also love a bold wallpaper for a small powder room – why not make it a star!
Some great options:
Metallic Finishes
Metallic touches on wallpaper are a trend I can really get behind. I feel like they are unexpected, but such a fun pop, no matter what your aesthetic.
Metallic accents are a great way to add texture and finish contrast to your space and are a great trending option!
Here are some options:
Grandmillennial designs
While Grand millennial style really peaked about a year ago, we are still seeing it’s influences in wallpaper selections.
This style of wallpaper is really vintage-inspired, with a lot of delicate floral or damask patterns.
It’s perfect if you like a more traditional or woodsy look!
Here are some options:
Ceiling Wallpaper
Accent walls have been a thing forever, but I personally love an accent ceiling! Lately, I have been seeing a lot of wallpapered ceilings – and I am here for it!
This is such a fun way to add an unexpected pop of pattern or color into a room.
It draws the eye up and can be a real conversation starter!
Wall murals
Another trend I am seeing a lot of is wallpaper wall murals! These are really immersive and allow you to feel like you have been placed in a scene of a set!
It’s a very bold look – and works with a certain style of home. They tend to feel a bit more formal and traditional, in my opinion.
But, of course, there are tons of different types of wall mural wallpapers to choose from!
Sometimes, murals are displayed as framed panels, separated into rectangles and framed with trim. That’s an even fancier look!
Here are some great options:
Wallpaper is a bold choice – whatever you pick, make sure it is because it is a reflection of you, and not just because it is trending!
